My Philosophy

To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.  This is to have succeeded!

About Me
  • M.F.A., Playwriting, Goddard College
  • B.A., Creative Writing, Goddard College
For over thirteen years, I have worked with hundreds of families of all backgrounds and nationalities to help them navigate the pressures and complexities of the college search process.

My background includes:
  • Academic advising for students from every type of educational background, including home schooled
  • Counseling students and families with special college search concerns, including substance abuse and mental health
  • Developing and implementing college entrance criteria, including an SAT-optional program
  • Assisting in the development of academic support programs for students at every level of achievementOverseeing Rutgers University's statistical research for submission to rankings publications
  • Developing and writing marketing campaigns for first-year students
  • Assisting in the research and analysis of first-generation/low income students and families
  • Presenting at conferences

I have worked with parents as they try to make their children understand the realities of finance and distance, and I have worked closely with students as they try to make their parents understand who they are and who they want to be.

I have worked with families as they try to sort through the confusion of marketing messages and piles of college mailings.

I assist families as they navigate the ramifications of a weak high school academic record; I cheer as those academically challenged students gain stronger footing through the senior year of high school and continue that upward trend of success into college and beyond.

In short, I love helping families and students.
