Concurrent Sessions

In 2012 the theme “Mosaics in Motion: Spiritual Leadership in a Multifaith World” will be explored by looking at the core values of:

·       religious literacy

·       radical hospitality

·       service with thoughtful reflection

·       creating and sharing sacred space

All workshops should address the themes of the conference, as well as provide significant participant engagement and discussion.

There are three categories of 75-minute concurrent sessions:

Roundtables: These facilitated conversations are designed to connect chaplaincy colleagues who desire in-depth discussion around a topic or issue related to the themes of the conference. Roundtable leaders will need to demonstrate in the proposal the potential interest of their topic or issue to other practitioners in the field, as well as their ability to sensitively facilitate conversation in a religiously and culturally diverse group.

Chaplain Voices: You’re invited to share a 15-minute story about your work as a chaplain in higher education. Three chaplains will be scheduled to present at each session. Remarks will relate to the themes of the conference. The sessions are primarily designed for sharing experiences with colleagues and exploring models of new and innovative leadership.

Paper Presentations: These sessions are designed for presenting best practices or current research findings related to the themes of the conference. The paper presentation must be 40 minutes or less, with the remainder of the session reserved for questions and discussion.
