This 650-page softbound book was published in two volumes in 1979 by Novinger Planned Progress, Inc. and reprinted in December 1996 all in one volume. The reprint has a complete 19,301-entry index containing 10,759 different individuals. Chapters include History, Railroad, Mining, Churches, Schools, Businesses, Organizations, Farming, Sports and Biographies. In addition the book includes 270 pages of 134 biographies (95 different surnames) for those who live or once lived in western Adair County plus many of their descendants. It is open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Mon. - Sat. and 1 - 5 p.m. on Sunday.
