Beginning today (June 22nd) the City of Ottawa will tear up the north side of Pineglen to repair the sunken section of asphalt.  They expect to complete this today.  Tomorrow (weather dependent) they are returning to cover the section with a new surface.  If it rains tomorrow, then they'll return early next week to complete the work.

While this repair is proceeding, I would ask that no club members use the Pineglen courts.  Once the new surface is down, it may take a day or two to dry and then we can resume playing on Pineglen.

Note that Cardio Tennis scheduled for this Saturday will now be located at the Grenfell courts.

Repair Scope of Work:
Birdbaths and large craters are becoming serious tripping hazards to tennis court users.
  • North side of tennis court from white line to court boundary is to be replaced by the City.
  • Saw cut from white line. Remove asphalt and top with granular to continue grade creating slope towards fence line.
  • No topping required.
  • No removal of fence or vegetation clean-up.
  • Bonding agent “Colas” to be used on saw cut asphalt.
Resurfacing (New Rubberized Coatings):
The repair discussed above requires a minimum of 21 days to cure.  The resurfacing is now scheduled to occur in early August.

The club is currently working on setting up and implementing an online court booking system.
Please continue to book the courts using the notice board and your tags until the online court booking system has been fully tested.  An email will be sent out with instructions on how to book a court online when it is ready.
