  • Eagles Fall Four Points Short In Regional Bid The Eagles were primed to qualify to their thirdstraight Regional Meet, however despite the factthat three Eagles run sub 17:00 the Eagles wouldfall four points short of qualifying to Regionals. JoshDuffie and Grant Holland qualified as individuals tonext weeks Regional Championship in Boardman.Good luck to Josh and Grant.

  • Eagles Come Up Big At League Championships The Golden Eagles battled in the very competitiveFederal League Championships on Saturday. Two ofthe six league teams were ranked going into Saturdayand the Eagles had a big fight in front of them. Whenthe last Eagle crossed the GlenOak High School XC course for the third time this season it was clear that the Eagles had stepped up big. The Eagles finishedsecond for the second time in in three years. NickBeule, Josh Duffie and Grant Holland earned FirstTeam All-League Honors.   • Eagles Battle Hard To Place 4th At Stow The GOXC Eagles competed against cold, rain, mudand PVC pipe to place 4th at the Stow Invitational. Ledby Nick Beule, Josh Duffie, Zach deVries, Alex Nuppand Jacob Murphy the Eagles faced a strong field ofrunners to take 4th (3rd among Ohio teams). Jacob Heid(pictured above) took a PVC pipe to the eye while racingand had to get 4 stitches, however he battled though to finish the race strongly. The JV Eagles led by the first placefinish of Jason Nagy placed 1st overall (for the third week in-a-row). Next the Eagles return home to GlenOak to hostthe 2014 Federal league Championship.   • Eagles Have Good Day At Stark County Championships GOXC Runners have a good day at the Stark CountyCross Country Championships. The Eagles finished5th out of 20 teams, led by Grant Holland, Nick Beule,and Josh Duffie ran strong to help the Eagles to thestrong finish. The GOXC JV team finished first with adominating performance. Led by Tyler Pace, Alex Nupp,Brian Evans, Gage Feola, Frankie Janowicz, John Bowen and Paul Murray, the JV Eagle ran great to place 1st witha score of 29 points. The Eagles had 19 runners run All-TimePersonal Records and had all but one runner run fasterthen they ran in the 2014 Eagle Invitational.   • Great Day For GOXC At 46th Malone Invitational Eagles Take Second At Malone InvitationalThe Golden Eagle runners traveled to Malone on Saturday to runin the 46th Annual Malone Invitational. The Varsity Eagles led by Grant Holland, Nick Beule, Josh Duffie, Jason Nagy and Zach deVriesplaced second, 8 points behind first place Louisville. The Eagles had six total All-Time Personal Records and ten 2014 Season Records.The JV Eagles finished first overall. Led by Jacob Murphy, Jacob Heid,Alex Nupp, Frankie Janowicz and John Bowen, finished with 17 points;only 2 points short of a perfect score of 15. It was a great day for allof the running Eagles.   • GOXC Eagles Struggle At Boardman The GOXC Eagles traveled to Boardman on Saturday tocompete at the Spartan Invitational. With six State ranked teams in the varsity race the opportunity to compete againsta strong field of runners was great. With a few runners under the weather and one runner (N. Beule) mentally exhaustedfrom taking the ACT early in the morning the Eagles struggledto an 11th place finish in a field of 37 teams. Josh Duffie ranhis best race of the season along with strong performancesfrom Zach deVries, Tyler Pace and Jason Nagy to help stop a complete GOXC meltdown. The JV runners ran great, finishing 3rd out of 35 teams.   • Eagles Take Third At Muddy Walsh Jesuit Invitational Boys GOXC team takes 3rd at a very muddy Walsh Jesuit Invitational.Varsity team led by Nick Beule and Grant Holland finish behind Lakeand Louisville. The Eagles pushed hard through sloppy course conditionsto finish one place better then they did in 2013. The JV runners took first outof a field of 16 teams, led by Gage Feola's first place finish, Brady Winkler's10th place finish. In the Ninth Grade only race the young Eagle runners place 3rd, led by Brian Evans, Frankie Janowicz, Matt Elsfelder and NatDevis.   • Eagles Continue To Run Strong At Marlington The Golden Eagles traveled to Marlington on Saturdayto compete in the Marlington Invitational. The Eagles finishing second behind a strong Lake team. The Eagleswere led by Grant Holland, Nick Beule and Josh Duffie; withthe top two Eagle runners going sub-17:00. Rounding out the top seven were Tyler Pace, Jason Nagy, Zach deVriesand Jacob Heid. Fifteen runners ran lifetime personal records,and thirty-one runners ran faster then they ran at the Golden Eagle Invitational.   • Eagles Start Season Off Strong At Golden Eagle Invitational The Boys GOXC team started the year off strong with a third place finish out of afield of 32 teams at the Golden Eagle Invitational. Led by the fifth place finish of GrantHolland the Eagles beat 4 teams ranked in the State Pre-Season Poll. Roundingout the Top 7 was Nick Beule, Josh Duffie, Tyler Pace, Zach deVries, Jason Nagy and Jacob Heid. The Varsity B team, led by Jacob Heid's 91st place finish, finished22nd out of 32 teams.The JV Eagles finished 7th out of 22 teams and were led by Ben Seger and Brian Gupton. The Golden Eagles travel to Marlington next Saturdayto compete in Marlington Invitational. Congratulations to all GOXC runners
