Welcome to the homepage for the eighth annual Great Lakes Expo for Experimental and Formal Undergraduate Linguistics (GLEEFUL), brought to you by the q Undergraduate Association for Linguistics at Michigan State (
qUALMS). GLEEFUL 2018 will be held on April 21st and 22nd, 2018 in East Lansing, Michigan. The conference will take place in Wells Hall B-Wing, Room B-243. We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker will be Professor Ian Roberts
, from the University of Cambridge. Please see our keynote page for the abstract for this talk. For abstracts, we are looking for high quality, original, undergraduate research in the broad field of linguistics and language sciences. This year we will also be hosting two workshops! The first will be hosted by Will Styler from the University of Michigan, titled "Using machine learning to study human language". The second workshop will be hosted by Alan Munn from Michigan State University, titled "LaTeX for Linguists".
