Quiz night - Saturday 9th February - get your tickets now

Thrift Shop Fashion show - thanks to everyone who helped out at the Fashion show - an amazing £481.90 was raised on the night for Children in Distress. We have since had some additional donations as well as an additional £100 donated by HMRC Riverside. We were able to send them a cheque for £601.40

Our Craft night was enjoyed by all, pictures showing people busy at work and some more of our creations can be seen here

New notice boards
Our outside board was looking a bit tired and the damp was getting in and spoiling the posters. We now have a nice new one, which looks very smart.

We also have a new notice board, next to the church doors to welcome everyone as they arrive

40th Anniversary Banner
As part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations we made a banner and everyone who came to the afternoon tea of service added a flower.


Afternoon Tea and 40th Anniversary Service
The afternoon tea was enjoyed by 60 people. And we had a lovely service on Sunday lead by Elaine Lindridge. Some of the photos taken during the afternoon tea are up in the hall. More photos here. (A big thank you to Catherine and Tom for the photos)

A very moving experience - if you didn't make it this year, I'd certainly reccommend you try it another year

Afternoon Tea
On Saturday 6th May at 2.30pm we are having an afternoon tea to celebrate Glebe's 40th Anniversary. Tickets are £2.50 and must be bought by the 30th April. For tickets see the stewards or email glebechurch@btinternet.com

Good Friday Labyrinth
On the 14th April our Friday Cell Group are organising a Good Friday Labyrinth 9am to 10.15am & 12.15pm to 3pm.

Gingerbread House Decorating Party:
We had a very enjoyable evening. Below are the tins we collected for the food bank and a couple of the completed houses. More photos here.
 
 
 


Samaritans Purse: Operation Christmas Child
Thank you to everyone who donated a shoe box. We collected 22 shoe boxes this year.


Christmas Fair Saturday 3rd December
We'd be very grateful for any donations and don't forget to come along and support us and see what bargains you can find.

Nativity Service  - Too busy for Christmas?
The Sunday school did a brilliant job, as usual, and made us think - are we too busy for the real meaning of Christmas?

Toy service (6th December)
As with previous years, everyone was very generous with their donations of toys for the Salvtion Army to distribute.
 
 
 
 
 
 



Gingerbread Jamboree a great success!

Gingerbread Jamboree
We've finalised the details for our gingerbread making event on the 20th November.  Catherine has been having a practice! Do you fancy having a go? Tickets are only £5.

We collected items for Sunderland food bank for this years Harvest Festival.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our collections for Children in Distress and the gifts for our sponsored children, Cristina and Nicoleta. We've sent cheques for £177.50 and the photo below shows the selection of clothes and  toys for the girls.

Name Project
For our church anniversary, we collected the names of people who were, and still are connected with our church; below is the result - can you find your name?
There's a big poster up in the hall if you want to have a better look.

The website has had an update - the photo albums have been organised and there are photos from our Easter service.

Toy Service
A big thank you to everyone who brought toys along this morning. They will be distributed in the local area by the Salvation Army. Below is a picture with just some of the donations.

We had a great night, I'll add some more photos when I get the chance (including Rupert and Gladys!), but here's one for starters 


Church Fair
A big thank you to everyone who helped out and came along and supported our fair, and a special thank you to the people from Barclays who came and helped too. We had a really good day and raised £724.58 for church funds.

Harvest Festival
Instead of the traditional fresh fruit and veg, we had a collection for Sunderland Food Bank.

Beetle Drive
We had a very successful night and raised £104 to be split between church funds and Children in Distress.

Church Trip
We had a very enjoyable trip to Jesmond Dene on the 14th September, we enjoyed lunch in the room, then moved outside for some games with the parachute and then went our separate ways.

Our trip to Jesmond Dene is on the 14th September, don't forget to sign up if you're planning to come along.

Cristina
Great news! We have heard from Children in Distress and our sponsored child, Cristina now has the equipment we helped to fund. She is working with physiotherapists and they hope that she will eventually be able to walk independently. There are photos of her are in the hall next to the hatch.

A big thank you
A big thank you to everyone who helped out and supported the car boot and table top sale. We had a great time and plan to have another one.



Car boot and table top sale update as of 19/6/14 we only have one space left (outside).

Car Boot and Table Top Sale Update - we only have 4 outside spaces left, the Thrift shop will be open, there'll be refreshments and children's activities including face painting as well as the stalls.

A very successful Cake stall!
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to our cake stall (23rd March) to raise funds for Children in Distress. We raised £66, well done everyone.


We made it!!!
Following on from the success of the beetle drive (and a big thank you to all who helped or came along and supported us) and the generous donations we have received, we have reached our £300 target for Cristina. This will be posted to Children in Distress on Monday (10th March) so they can get the equipment for Cristina ordered as soon as possible.

We had a very enjoyable evening (8th March) and in the process raised  £145 which will be split equally between church funds and for Cristina at  Children in Distress. A big thank you to all who helped out or came along and supported us. Lots of photos were taken - how many times can you spot yourself?
