I am Gitanjali Nandi. Currently, I am a junior majoring in Computer Science at the University at Buffalo (UB). I am a Research Assistant at the UB Drones Lab and I am working in a team of three on a project called "crazyswarm" that involves establishing a coordinated swarm of nano quad-copters. I am also one of the Teaching Assistants of the CSE department (for one of the Java coding courses called CSE115) and I love interacting with and helping freshmen who are new to coding. It is a very rewarding experience and I get to learn something new everyday by interacting with such talented minds.
The more I use computers and the internet, the more curious I get to learn about how they look on the inside. I aspire to learn as much as possible about computer technology. My aim in life is to pursue my love for coding and to be a successful Computer Scientist. I am an active member of UB Scientista, because I strongly believe in Women in Tech. I was also part of the UB Hacking Publicity team for 2017 and I have been slated to be one of the UB Hacking team leads for 2018. It was a great experience to help organize our hackathon and I look forward to doing it all over again next year.
I love painting and playing Chess. I am a professionally trained dancer, specializing in a classical Indian Dance form, Bharat Natyam. My favorite sport is Swimming. Will you believe me if I tell you that I learnt swimming from YouTube? Its true!
In my 9th grade, I was awarded the Best Conduct Award for being the most well behaved and organized student in my class.
If you look around this website, you will find a lot about my academic and extra curricular achievements.
