This website is a place to learn about our troop, USA Girl Scouts in Kobe, especially for new girls and leaders!
I am Sasha (Junior in 2015).
I am creating this website for my Bronze Award project.
When we have new girls and leaders, I see them trying to learn what we do, including songs with hand motions, how we run ceremonies and our traditions.
I would like to help my troop learn more about Girl Scouts.
I hope you find this website helpful!!

Interview
Girls in our troop live the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
I interviewed some girls in our troop.
I asked girls to pick a part of the Girl Scout Law and explain how they live by it.

I myself picked this part of Girl Scout Law, “Considerate and caring”.
I am nice to my friends, my family and of course my Girl Scout sisters.
I think about others and want to make people feel happy.

“Use resources wisely"
I always turn off the water faucets at school when they are left open.
When my mom asks me to go shopping, I always take my own shopping bag so I don't need to usea plastic bags.

“Friendly and helpful”
I am friendly to others so when people aren’t in a good mood, I make them feel happy by cheering them up.
I sometimes see my friend that isn’t in a good mood and I ask them how they feel and try to tell them what they should do.
For example: if there was somebody who was sad, because some people were laughing at her mistake.
I would say to her to just ignore them or to forget about it. Then you would not feel bad.

“Use resources wisely”
I “use resources wisely” by shopping with my Eco bag, trying not to waste food and water and trying to use as little electricity as possible.
We recycle cloth, toys, books, paper, plastic and cans.

"Make the World a Better Place"
This is my 4th year being a Girl Scout and for my bronze award project I chose to raise awareness about puppy mills.
Puppy mills are disreputable breeders that abuse animals. I made a short, kid friendly video about 2 girls finding out about puppy mills.
They teach their parents about the abuse and go to a shelter instead of a pet store to get their dog.
I put the video on a Facebook webpage called Adopt, Don’t Shop. This is how I try to make the world a better place.
Here is the link to “Adopt, Don’t Shop”: https://www.facebook.com/PuppyMillProblem4Kids/timeline

“I will do my best to... be a sister to every Girl Scout.”
I have been in Girl Scouts since I was a Brownie and it has taken me on a long journey ever since I started.
Besides the fun activities, we do and the world impacting projects, my favorite part is being with girls.
I have always loved younger children, so being that older sister is just part of who I am.
Being a sister in Girl Scouts is not just being caring though. It is looking out for your fellow sisters and being honest as much as you can with them.
With that said, I love all my Girl Scout sisters!
