Giovanni Legrenzi was without doubt one of the most important composers in Italy in the second half of the 17th century. A prolific writer of church music, opera and instrumental works, he deserves to be better known than he is today. The aim of this site is to provide information about his life and his output, and to promote available (reliable) editions and outstanding recordings. It is very much work in progress, and I am always open to suggestions for improvements, or things I ought to include on the site.
