Community Outreach

Halloween Kids's Fest on October 31st, 2013. The GEARS robotic family volunteered to help the local FEA chapter in presenting Halloween Kidsfest for the children of Gilmer County.  This gives the students within the community a safe, indoor location to play games and trick or treat. The robotics students performed Halloween science experiments for the students and sent them how with goodies.

Rotary Club

Gilmer County Board of Education Presentation December 12th, 2013.  The students were garnering support for the Gilmer High School Robotics program G.E.A.R.S and the need for more STEM in education.  We had a great presentation that allowed us to gain support from Administration and the community.

GEARS Purple attended the Athens / Sparbots Qualifier on January 18th, 2014 to support the GEARS family in competition and ended up helping other FTC teams from across Georgia with their robots. Here they are seen helping North Oconee's Robotics team.  We also received a thank you letter from their mentor.
