Don't Throw That Away!

The GMRSD is launching a comprehensive compost program for food and paper waste. This program goes way beyond traditional backyard compost programs in that ALL food is acceptable, plus paper waste such as milk cartons, napkins, paper towels, paper plates.

This is a waste diversion method that diverts a significant amount of materials out of landfills and into a compost facility. The compostable waste will go to Martin's Farm in Greenfield. These programs are already successful at many local schools, including Pioneer, Erving, Sunderland, Whately, Deerfield, UMass, and more.

TFHS and GFMS students attended a special assembly, The ACE Climate Assembly. This is a link to the presentation.
