• We are looking for graduate students to join us at the UCF College of Medicine - look here & then email Dr. Gilbertson for more info! • OUR LAB HAS MOVED! Starting July 2018, the Gilbertson Laboratory is now at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. We will be in the Department of Internal Medicine and located in the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences Building on the Lake Nona Campus of UCF. We are furiously setting up as we speak and this site, like our lives at the moment, is under renovation! Our research is focused on the investigation of the
mechanisms the body uses to recognize nutrients & how this process is
regulated by nutritional need. To accomplish these goals, we study the way
nutrients including fats, carbohydrates and minerals are detected by
chemosensory cells in the oral cavity and in several nutrient-sensitive,
post-ingestive organs. Our laboratory studies the involvement of chemosensory pathways
in several nutrient-related disorders including diabetes, obesity, and
metabolic syndrome. The research in our laboratory spans from genes through
behavior with expertise in molecular biology, proteomics, electrophysiology,
imaging, biochemistry and analysis of behavior. To find out more, follow the links at the left. Find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter Our Company: Cell Signaling Solutions LLC |
