Outlook on the eve of the opener
Post date: Aug 12, 2016 11:31:59 AM
Weather conditions for the opener (Saturday, August 13th): Dark and damp early, probably some significant mosquito activity (I know this first hand), tending to get lighter and warmer as the day progresses, then dark in the late evening. Picking should be great in the morning and tapering off during the day, depending on the size of the crowd. Sunday picking should be ok. Based on the significant fraction of berries needing to get ripe, picking after Sunday will likely be a struggle. We will decide on a picking plan for the week on Sunday, after we see how much is harvested this weekend.
