June 5/11 - Congratulations to our 2011 Student Presentation Award Winners Jennifer Asanin Dean (PhD McMaster) and Fiona Lawson (Masters, SFU).

March 18/11 - The Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research at Laurentian University is accepting application for a new Director. Check it out on the Jobs link to the left.

March 17/11 - The registration deadline for the CAG has been extended to April 12. If you haven't already done so, remember to register!!

We are slowly updating the outstanding materials and the Jan 2010 newsletter is now available online here. Expect the next newsletter in early summer following the CAG in Calgary.

We have also re-linked the domain and it is now active, making it more convenient to link to our website.

The site is very much 'under renewal'. I have tried to indicate the updated sections where possible. However there is some information that is amusing in its obsolescence. For an interesting blast through the past, check out the Biographies section. Even better, send me an updated biography!

As the updating process takes place, I will try to keep you informed.

Deadline for the CAG annual meeting in Calgary (May 31 - June 4) is February 18 - organize a special session, submit your abstract and register here.

When submitting, please remember to select from the following special sessions in order to ensure that you are included in a session sponsored by the specialty group. Select from:

Health Geographies I – Urban and Rural Issues
Health Geographies II – Health & the Environment
Health Geographies III – Social Geographies of Health
Health Geographies IV – Health, Space & Place (this is a general catch-all if you don’t feel you fit in the others)

Deadline for the International Medical Geography Symposium in Durham, UK (July 10-15) is January 14. Submit your abstract and register here.
