kpé = to meet; fé = place: Meeting Place
GNS allonym: Kpeve Gbohome {Kpeve Old Town}. The 2012 General Election Polling Station List shows 'Kpeve New Town' in South Dayi District, and 'Old Kpeve' in Afadjato South {Afadjato District}. The situation is evidently a matter of some political controversy. http://www.modernghana.com/news/395892/1/more-calamities-for-ndc.html: ".. although Kpeve is one traditional area, it has interestingly been divided among two assemblies namely, the South Dayi District Assembly and the Hohoe Municipal Assembly {now Afadjato} .. ". http://www.ghanadistricts.com/news/?read=2620: "The Mankrado of Kpeve Traditional area Togbi Agbi Nani IV .. said "It is sad to say that a small town like Kpeve is politically divided to serve two administrative districts, while Kpeve Old town is under South Dayi District Assembly, Kpeve Newtown is under the Hohoe District, Newtown is only separated from the Oldtown by a gutter, we are calling for the re-demarcation of the Districts and electoral areas next year to bring the two sister towns under the South Dayi District."
According to I.Akpabui, the name should be 'Kpefe' (a meeting place), and was so-named because the place was used for discussions between representatives of 2 villages.
