GFA-BASIC 32 Update
Here you can download the latest version of GFA-BASIC 32 for Windows 32-bit for free. GFA-BASIC 32 is the follower of GFA-BASIC for Atari ST and Amiga, the 16-bits versions for MSDOS and Windows 3.1. Since 2001 GFA-BASIC is no longer a commercial product. Both the Atari ST version and the 32-bit Windows version are maintained by dedicated hobbyists.
GFA-BASIC 32 runs on all 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows (95/98/Me, Server, NT/2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7).

About Build 1166
The download of Build 1166 contains the entire development envirtonment. The default help-file is in English now (German users should rename it to use the German help-file, see the ReadMe230.htm). Build 1165 is the fifth update and contains both a newer version for IDE (GfaWin32.exe) as well as an update of the DLL runtime (GfaWin23.Ocx).
Unzip the full package a GFA-BASIC 32 directory of your choice. After installing make a shortcut for GfaWin32.exe file (IDE) to the desktop and start using GFA-BASIC 32.
If you only want the exe, dll, and help-file unzip the download to a temporary directory and copy the newer files to your GFA-BASIC 32 development folder.
The editor extension
The package comes with an editor extension 'gfaedext.gll', which is automatically loaded when you run GfaWin32.exe for the first time. If you want this editor extension when you already have run GFA-BASIC once before, it won't load automatically. You must then install it explicitly using the Extension Manager. When GFA-BASIC 32 runs for the first time it creates new entries in the register. If the register key GLK can't be found GFA-BASIC tries to find the gfaedext.gll in the directory GfaWin32.exe is run from.
