Topics for Mar 27 (feel free to add your own items/additional notes about the call):
    • Semi-automated registration
      • Almost completed for WCS GetCapabilities (should be ready for testing by end of this week)
      • Working on WMS CetCapabilities XSLT translation to ISO 19115
      • Looking at SOAP/WSDL and SOS
    • One of the next steps is to use the WMS FGDC status checker test tools in AIP-2
      • check with test facility workgroup (can we do conformance testing?)
    • Hotlinked Metadata flow diagram
    • Need to begin pulling together scenario storyboard
      • Incorporate OpenDAP services?
        • Is OpenDAP registered as a GEOSS standard? - no but should be. (get it started as a special arrangement?)
    • Look at GMU CSW 2.0.2: http://geossregistries.info/geosspub/component_details_ns.jsp?compId=urn:uuid:e281a44a-b589-4d0e-a79a-e1818335f16a
      • ingested metadata from Washington U.'s WAF and added GUID for each metadata. The GUID needs synchronization.
    • GMU OPeNDAP Client (developed through ACCESS WECHO project)

posted Mar 2, 2009, 8:51 AM by Erin Robinson

Topics for Feb 27 (feel free to add your own items/additional notes about the call)
    • Scenario-Use Case Matrix
      • We've updated AQ Use Cases 1-4; added preliminary plans for Use Cases 5-7
      • Would like to test compliance test, Use Case 9 (does not support WCS - but we could test our WMSes)
      • George Percivall has asked for a list of services and components (with URLs) that we plan to use in the scenario
        • One approach is to map our AQ Use Cases to the wildfire-smoke scenario and thereby refine the scenario and identify the components, services and use cases involved.
        • Stefan has offered to start that list and point others to it for review and updates
    • Updates of Community Catalog
      • Improved harvesting methods during testing phase. The records are changing regularly and need to be able to access the updated records through the clearinghouse.
      • Discussed catalog options: Dynamic, distributed search (z39.50, CSW) harvested (WAF, OAIPMH)
        • Harvest method more likely to survive (Google ultimate harvester)
        • Distributed search performs as well as the distributed nodes.
      • ESRI and USGS both are harvesting WAF
    • GMU CSW Interface
      • Working on search client for CSW 2.0.1 (demo next call)
      • Upgrade to CSW 2.0.2 (future)
    • Updates on Searching the Clearinghouses
      • Created a table to capture our search tests
      • Goal is for others to add rows to the table for how they envision searching GEOSS and then testing how that can or cannot be done with the current search interfaces and metadata content
      • CSW search allows more powerful search than open search (just text), can fetch full submitted record using GetRecordByID.
    • ISRSE May Meeting, Stresa, Italy. ESIP (Karl Benedict) is organizing a demonstration of web services and Web resources. ESIP Community participation is requested.
    • UIC Presentation
