Outreach

C_GIS strives for building a geospatially empowered society which comprises of general public, pupils, students, academicians, professionals, employers and beyond. Apart from the Expert Seminar and Discussion Forum, C_GIS uses a variety of means and implements a range of activities for achieving this aim.

GIS Day
It provides an interaction forum for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society.
  • GIS Day is celebrated on 3rd Wednesday of November every year.
  • This is one of the means to spread awareness about geospatial information, its importance in daily life as well as the state-of-the art in geospatial science and technology.
  • This is an introductory dissemination event specially designed for general public and pupils.
UNIGIS India Bulletin
This is a quarterly publication of UNIGIS@India sharing the ideas, experiences, visions and practices of the leaders, teachers, students and professionals engaged in various fields of geospatial science and technology in different parts of the world.

Capacity Building Forum
These are organised as part of various conferences for providing a platform to the young students for sharing the outcomes of their education and research activities as well as for bringing academia, industry and organisations together for face-to-face discussion about the current needs and difficulties as well as the future course of action for geo-enabled development.
