Welcome to the Geoscience Learning Process Research website. We are focused on community college and university undergraduate learning environments that facilitate rich student learning experiences, promote greater geoscience literacy, and encourage students to pursue Masters and Doctoral degrees in Geoscience Education in a Geoscience department.

Our research includes best practices in reformed based teaching and learning in large lecture classrooms, small classroom, physical and online laboratory settings, and place-based field work. Geoscience content, process skills and the nature of science are embedded within the pedagogical approaches we utilize.

Research suggests students achieve their potential when they are aware of the skills and strategies needed to develop self-mastery. The affective domain and issues related to student motivation and self-regulation are central to our research mission.

If you are interested in geoscience education research that addresses issues of student affect and the integration of effective learning strategies across a variety of learning environments please contact us.
