Youth Birding Competition

Every year in late April, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) hosts a 24-hour youth birding event called the Youth Birding Competition. Teams of two to five students bird locally or across the state from 5:00 pm one day to 5:00 pm the next day, identifying as many species as they can by sight or by ear. There are three age divisions, and many prizes. There is even an art competition and a great banquet at the end. This is a great opportunity to test your ID skills. Please contact us if your team needs a mentor.
