Parent Workshops

We host Parent Workshops at Perley with the Family and Community Connection staff several times a year. The topics are varied and selected through parent input (surveys).

A snapshot of our recent workshops:

"Saying No with LOVE"

Conversation topics included proactive strategies (setting limits and boundaries, having developmentally appropriate expectations) and reactive strategies (consistency and follow through).

"Supporting Children with Big Feelings"

Conversation topics included talking about feelings with your child (noticing out loud, labeling feelings) and having a "toolkit" of strategies to use (calming choices, calm down spaces).

"Ideas and Supports for Potty Training"

Conversation topics included creating a potty training plan, setting up the environment, modeling/guiding/supporting the process, and use of incentive charts and rewards.

Upcoming topics include: readiness for kindergarten
