The Geology Club has an active general fundraising campaign to help offset the cost of publicity efforts, meeting expenses, and other general club expenses. There is also a fundraising campaign for the Geology Undergraduate Field School Scholarship. GENERAL CLUB FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
The Geology Club at UGA in the 2011-2012 school year will be funded through combination of resources, including departmental funding, Student Activity fee funding, SGA small club funding, and the support of generous faculty. GEOLOGY UNDERGRADUATE FIELD SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
The Geology Club at UGA aspires to establish a scholarship for the required undergraduate field school. Every year, students travel to Cañon City, Colorado in order to apply geologic skills they have learned in the classroom. The Geology Club at UGA hopes to establish a scholarship fund for one student who demonstrates exceptional involvment in club activities and has a passion for geoscience. Funds for this scholarship will be acquired through fundraising and donations.
GUIDELINES FOR DONATIONS TO THE GEOLOGY CLUB AT UGA
CATEGORY 1: Donors interested in supporting activities and expenses of the Geology Club itself. Let donor choose how they want to make out check, make sure they know if they will get tax credit or not.
Option 1: NO TAX CREDIT (EASIER FOR CLUB & DEPARTMENT)
Option 2: TAX CREDIT (DEPARTMENT MUST DISTRIBUTE FUNDS)
CATEGORY 2: Donors interested in supporting the new Undergraduate Research Endowment
-Make checks out to the Arch Foundation, designating "Geology Department Undergraduate Research Endowment" in the designation line.
