Welcome to Mrs. Wygant's Science Education Web Page!
Hi! I am a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) Secondary Science in Santa Clara, California. I previously taught Geology and other sciences at the secondary level for 18 years, in both Texas and California. I currently hold a BS in Geology from Cal State University Hayward and a Master's in Teaching Science Education from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a Masters in Geosciences from Mississippi State University. I have also earned my preliminary Administrators Credential. I am starting my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction- STEM with Texas Tech University. I served as the Treasurer of the California Science Teachers' Association from 2012-2014, after serving the previous 4 years as the High School Director. I love teaching teenagers and interesting them in the geosciences! I am also an avid animal person, with 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 chickens. I am a country girl at heart, and love being out in the middle of nowhere- camping, hiking, running, biking, and just enjoying the beauty of this planet. I lived in Texas most of my life, but am enjoying California and the diversity of geological features (like mountains!).
