My research interests include network information theory, wireless communications, localization and navigation, security and privacy. My current and past research topics include:
Physical layer algorithm design for 5G sub-6GHz, mmW & RedCap
Machine learning for high-precision localization in wireless networks
Fundamental limits of treating interference as noise
Fundamental limits of zero-forcing for MIMO networks
Power control and link scheduling for D2D networks
Interference alignment and topological interference management
Physical layer secrecy for wireless networks
Transceiver design for IEEE 802.11ax OFDMA WLAN
Transceiver design and RLT implementation for UWB systems
I am particularly interested in understanding the fundamental limits of multiuser wireless networks and deriving design principles for real-world networks based on theoretical insights. An example is my previous research on the optimality of treating interference as noise from a generalized degrees-of-freedom (GDoF) perspective. The insights obtained from the GDoF study not only lead to nice theoretical results, e.g., the capacity within a constant gap for any finite SNR, but also motivate distributed and low-complexity algorithms for power control and link scheduling.
