Create a Website!

This is a brief general guide for building a website. The guidelines for building a website helped me to create www.newutrechtchurch.org!

• Use an editor such as Seamonkey Composer or use the built-in tools for Google Sites
• Create a template (add a header and footer)
• Create home page with the name of the website (make sure it also appears in the title bar!)
  • Add text, photos and graphics
  • Add news, RSS, Twitter, Facebook feeds
• Sections
  • Heading and title page for each section
• Create other pages
  • Heading (make sure it also appears in the title bar!)
  • Add text, photos and graphics
• Blogs
  • Either internally hosted or use Blogger, Facebook or Twitter
• Purchase Web address (example:www.foo.com)
• Use hosting (Gate, Google Sites, WordPress, Blogger)
• Upload photos and PDFs using FileZilla
• Publish your site to the server using Seamonkey or FileZilla
