  • What is the General Conference?
    • The General Conference is the highest governing body of the OMS Holiness Church of North America. (Conference) The General Conference is held annually and votes on propositions, elects officers, and discusses agenda items. Decisions and rules voted on at the General Conference are to continue to govern the activities of the Conference.
    • The General Conference agenda is prepared by the Executive Council and is hosted by one of the Conference Churches. The General Conference in 2008 will be hosted by the West Los Angeles Holiness Church (WLAHC).
    • Prior to the General Conference, the Ordained Ministerial Body (OMB) and the Executive council will meet on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the LAHC. The General Conference will be held on the campus of the University of Southern California (USC).

  • When are These Events? 

    • July 10, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. OMB Meeting.
      (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner provided) at LAHC.

    • 5:00 p.m. - Executive Council Meeting
      (Dinner Provided) at LAHC.

    • July 10, 10:00a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Pastor's Wives' Fellowship
      at LAHC

    • July 11, 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. General Conference
      (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner provided) at USC.

    • July 12, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. General Conference
      (Breakfast, and Lunch provided) at USC.


  • Who is invited to the General Conference?
    • Ministers - One minister per each church department (See Constitution V-1-A)
    • Lay Delegates - One per every 50 members (See Constitution V-1-A)
    • Retired Ministers (See Constitution IV-B)
    • Invited Guests - No voting right (spouses, helpers, CYA representatives, and invited guests)


  • Where will the General Conference be located?
    •  This year, the conference will be held at the University of Southern California, while the Pastor's Meeting and the Executive Council will be held at LA Holiness Church
    • Meetings will be located at Salvatori Hall. See Campus Map for details.


  • What should you bring?
    • Bible and stationary items.

    • Comfortable clothing (walking shoes, typically hot weather, air conditioned rooms)

    • For those who are traveling

    • Clothing and personal hygiene items.

    • Home stays will be asked to provide bedding and towels.


  • How do you register?

    • All registrations are completed online. Please go to the Registration Page to register. Please check with your delegates to make sure that they register and are able to use the web based registration. There is an option for you to register for that person.

    • All registrations are due by Sunday June 8, 2007. Please purchase your airline tickets early for lower rates. If there are complications in confirming your final details, please contact the registrar at to better accommodate your situation.

    • A Confirmation e-mail will be sent to you shortly after you register.

    • Additional information regarding General Conference along with a confirmation of your travel and housing accommodations will be mailed to you two weeks prior to this event.

    • To the Pastors & Board Chairs: The Annual Business Meeting for the Local Church must be held in June according to (By-Laws V-1-a-2-C) to elect delegates. Please arrange a Special Business Meeting (By-laws V-2) in May to allow ample time for delegates to arrange their travel to and from General Conference.

    • To the EC Members: Please make sure that all invited guests register online.
