Tracing Your Civil War Ancestors at NJ State Archives

posted Mar 6, 2012, 4:51 AM by Bonny Elwell   [ updated Mar 6, 2012, 4:55 AM ]

The Genealogical Society of Salem County will host a program, “Tracing Your Civil War Ancestors at NJ State Archives,” presented by Catherine S. Medich on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7pm at the Friends Village Auditorium in Woodstown. The public is invited to attend this admission-free event.

This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of the Department of the State, through the Salem County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and Salem County Cultural and Heritage Commission.

One hundred and fifty years ago, the Civil War tore apart our country and tore about families across the United States. As we commemorate the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, many of us wonder who in our own family may have served in that influential war. Catherine S. Medich will share various ways of researching at the NJ State Archives in the search for our Civil War ancestors.
