Outside the Educator Role:

I am a Colorado native. I grew up in the infamous Trinidad, Colorado. It is about 15 miles north of the New Mexico border. My family has lived in that area for over 100 years. To this day, my parents, brother, and his family call Trinidad home. In fact, they all live on the same street as neighbors.  I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Colorado. To pay my way through school, I worked as a unit secretary for Mt. San Rafael hospital in Trinidad and McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Working with people and helping the community has been a theme in my life. At the end of my college years, I went to Australia to live and teach. I lived and traveled the South Pacific for 4 months; and it was a great part of my life. I have a tiny human, Presley, born on May 20, 2015.I am a single mother, and Presley and I enjoy all the fun we can cram into a day- from tea parties to playing cars.  I earned a Master's Certificate in Technology Integration from Regis University in 2011.   I love to travel and try to go on adventures in state or internationally whenever I can. The south pacific is my favorite place to go.  When I am not at work, or dreaming of a beach, I am usually at home playing with Presley. I love taking pictures, running, spin classes, and baking. I sleep when my tiny human allows.  I have been a vegetarian for the last 20 years.
