Hello. My name is George Dotsis and I'm an Associate Professor in Finance at the University of Athens. Previously I worked at Essex Business School, University of Essex. I have taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in almost all areas of finance. Currently I also teach the popular on-line course "Principles of Money, Banking and Finance" at the MSc in Blockchain and Digital Currency, University of Nikosia.
I have designed the Finance 101 course in order to promote financial literacy and help individuals make better financial decisions based on robust empirical evidence from the academic finance literature. The course is evidence based and uses a mix of mainstream and heterodox economic/finance theories. As an academic I like to be eclectic and read and teach theories that are realistic and can explain empirical facts. I strongly believe that understandings Finance can improve the well-being of individuals.
