Who We Are

he Groton-Dunstable Regional High School Chamber Chorus is renowned for their choral performances. The members range from 10th to 12th grade and are admitted through a competitive audition process. They specialize in a capella pieces – from classical to contemporary selections – featuring 8- to 14-part harmonies performed at a collegiate level and beyond. The GD Chamber Chorus meets for an hour and half every weekday with their conductor, Timothy Savoy, who works with the students to achieve a professional quality of sound.

Over the past decade GD Chamber Chorus has competed in regional and national competitions held in Massachusetts, New York, Virginia, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Toronto. In total the GD Chamber Chorus has received over 30 first-place, best-overall, best-sectional, best-choir, best-soloist, best-accompanist, best-performers, and grand-sweep awards. The group is also very active in the community through performances for school events, local organizations and charity fundraisers. The group’s winter and spring concerts are highly acclaimed and attended by the surrounding communities.

Because of its reputation for musical excellence, the Chamber Chorus is frequently invited to appear at many international venues. The group performed at the 2012 Olympics in London, and in 2014, they completed a successful singing tour in Italy and the Czech Republic. Last year, the group was back in Italy by popular demand, followed by several concerts in Croatia. In April 2018, the Chamber Chorus will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York with renowned composer Eric Whitacre.

Most importantly, the GD Chamber Chorus forges camaraderie among its members and builds unity among the larger community through the power of music!
