This is a contest for creating an independent game which will give you a chance to show your game to the industry and get published, with a $100,000 cash prize too.  The submission deadline is October 1st.

Intel Level Up 2009 Game Development Competition
Quoted from Gamasutra:

"Contest registration will be open until July 1st, and participants must submit any detailed abstracts, screenshots, and movies of their game demos before that deadline.

Judges will then pick the top ten scoring entries in each of the three categories based on game play, originality, and execution, before asking finalists to submit their game demo executable program as well as an article on their work by August 10th.

The winners will be announced at the 2009 Austin Game Developers Conference, held this September in Texas."
