Announcements:
  • I hope everyone is having a safe and relaxing Labor Day today!
  • Thanks to all those who traveled to Martin this past Friday night.  We really could not do what we do without great chaperones, pit moms/dads, and everyone that helps us get from point A to point B!  A special thanks from Tico to those who helped getting the front ensemble equipment to/from the field.
  • You all should be receiving your September Financial Statements through CutTime via email soon to let you know what we have you recorded as paying and when.  When you receive your statement, if you see anything that is not correct, please contact Andie Watson at andreadwatson@hotmail.com.
  • Cup/Tumbler Orders + $$$ are due THIS FRIDAY!  Each student is asked to sell at least 3 cups in order to make this fundraiser a success.  Please do your part to make it happen!
  • This Friday we travel to Halls.  The game begins at 7pm.  The attire will still be khaki shorts/pants, polos, and tennis shoes.  We will march the same amount of show this week as we did last week due to time constraints.  RIDE HOME FORMS ARE DUE BY THIS THURSDAY @ 5PM!  NO EXCEPTIONS!  We will always follow the same sign-out procedures that we did this past week.
  • Visor/Cap orders + $$$ are due NEXT MONDAY!  This is an optional fundraiser but open for anyone interested.
  • Band Booster Meeting - NEXT MONDAY NIGHT - 7:00 pm - Band Room - Come be a part!
  • ATTENTION SENIORS & SENIOR PARENTS:  The state scholarship application deadline is October 1st!  You do not have to be a music major to get some money to be in band in college!  Don’t miss this opportunity!  The scholarship application still hasn't been released as of yet but should be soon.  Take a look at the Division I website (http://www.riverdaleband.com/div-1/#toggle-id-1) in order to access the scholarship application when it becomes available.
  • Many of you did not make your September band fee payment of $30 this past Friday.  Please take care of this payment ASAP so that they band can ensure that the booster organization can take care of our bills in a timely fashion.
  • Marching Shoes are in and should be given to your student at some point this week IF they have paid for his/her shoes.  The MTX brand marching shoes is a REQUIRED component of the uniform.  It is suggested that students break these shoes in BEFORE wearing them at a game or a competition.
  • Theme Shirt/Merchandise Orders should be in THIS WEEK!  Stay tuned for more information with regards to when they will be distributed.
  • Next Friday Night (13th) we will wear uniforms for the first time.  Each student will need his/her own theme shirt (one free shirt will be distributed this week), pair of MTX marching shoes (distributed this week if ordered and paid for), gloves ($3/pair - see Mr. Agee to purchase), black socks (MUST BE MID-CALF OR HIGHER), NO JEWELRY!
  • Continue to download and take a look at All-West Music at http://gchsmarchingpioneers.org under the "forms and practice tools" tab.  If you don't have a printer at home I will be more than happy to print off a copy for your student at school.  Simply have them ask me to print them a copy.  Auditions are not until January so a little bit of practice time now will really increase your child's chances of making one of the All West bands when auditions take place in January!
