Rehearsal Schedule for the week:

  • Monday - Guard Sectional (3-5); Full WW Sectional (3:15-4:30); Percussion Sectional (5-8)
  • Tuesday - Full Band (3-5); all other Hornline Sectionals (5-6)
  • Thursday - Full Band (3-5)
  • Friday - FB vs. Union City @7 - we will meet dressed in full uniform at 5:45.
  • Saturday - Bethel/South Gibson Competitions - We will meet at 11 for immediate departure to Bethel.
  • Thanks to all those who helped cheer on the band at Friday night's homecoming game or more importantly last night at Union City!  We had great crowds at both places.  It always hipes the kids up when their cheering section starts roaring as they take the field!  A SPECIAL THANK YOU to our pit crew, equipment movers, chaperones, and everyone who helped organize, cook, and feed the kids yesterday!  It takes an army to make this organization run and we appreciate all that you do!  
  • Congratulation to the Pioneers on another win this past Friday night!
  • Braided Bread Orders + $$$ are due THIS FRIDAY!  Order form is attached.  Each student is asked to sell at least 6 loaves or get $30 in donations.  Please do your part to make this a successful fundraiser!
  • This Friday night we play Union City at home @7!  Students must be dressed in full uniform and in their seats at 5:15.
  • Saturday we have a double-header competition at Bethel ( and South Gibson (!  We will meet at 11am for immediate departure to Bethel.  Students will either need to each lunch BEFORE they arrive at 11 or bring $$$ to eat concessions at BOTH Bethel (lunch) and South Gibson (dinner).  We will NOT feed the students at this contest.  Line-ups and itinerary for the day are attached to this email.  We will NOT stay for awards at Bethel.  All ride home forms for Saturday are due by Friday @3pm!  NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • A list of trophy sponsors that we had last year (attached) were sent out last week.  You can continue to get trophy sponsors through October 1st.  All sponsors + money are due to the box with your child's name on it by then in order for them to be included in the contest program.  Remember that a portion of every sponsor ($25 - 1st place, $15 - 2nd place, $10 - 3rd place) will go towards your student's room cost (~$55) at state and anything on top of that will go towards your student's trip to Gatlinburg with the Concert Band in the spring.  Trophy sponsorship form is attached as well.
  • Our contest that we host at GC is a little over a month away on Saturday, October 19th!  We are at our maximum number of bands right now which is 23!!!  We are expecting over 5000 students/directors/staff/parents on our campus that day!   The is a HUGE day for our band program and we WILL NEED your help on that Saturday so make plans to be on campus that day.  It takes EVERYONE to host our invitational.  If you have not signed up to help with the contest yet please contact Jennifer Lowrance so she can get you plugged in somewhere.
Upcoming Dates:
  • Friday, September 27th - FB @ West Carroll - 7:00 pm - We WILL travel to this game!  Departure time will be in next week's announcements
  • Saturday, September 28th - Briarcrest Competition - Exact details will be in next week's announcements.  The contest begins at 2:40 with awards at 9:10.
  • Friday, October 4th - FB vs. McKenzie (Home) - 7:00 pm - This will be the band's senior night and also 8th grade night for our 8th graders coming up to high school next year!
  • Saturday, October 5th- Huntingdon Contest - Details still TBA.
