  • Thanks to everyone who lined the streets of Trenton at the Teapot Parade or traveled to Humboldt for the Mass Band Rehearsal yesterday!  The kids did a tremendous job and fought through a VERY LONG DAY!  I hope many of you will plan to line the streets of Humboldt this Friday to help cheer on this great group of students one more time!
  • A special THANK YOU to anyone who played a part in making the Banquet a success on Friday night!  It was tremendous for both our students and especially me.
  • We have a very special week with a lot things going this week!  The President of the Tournament of Roses is coming to visit GIBSON COUNTY!!!  I am attaching the press release that went out to all the major media outlets in the area this past Thursday.
  • Fall 2021 Guard Auditions are TOMORROW from 3:30 until 5.  All students' parents who make the line for next year will have a MANDATORY meeting immediately following the auditions in the library.  The auditions are closed and no one from the outside is allowed to attend the auditions.
  • TOMORROW NIGHT are the Opening Ceremonies for the Strawberry Festival!  The Mass Band is getting all of the proceeds from the concessions.  Our band is charge of the grilling which will begin at 2 tomorrow.  If you are interested in helping with the grilling then you can contact Dewayne Eddleman.  The ceremonies begin at 6 in the stadium at Humboldt High School with a petting zoo, face painting, jumpers for the kids, etc.  There is a smaller Mass Ensemble of 31 debuing the new Mass Band Uniforms and performing the National Anthem sometime around 7:55-8:05 just before the HUGE $10,000+ firework show that begins right after.  We hope you can come out and buy some concessions, hear the ensemble play, and enjoy a FANTASTIC firework show!
  • Parade Band Rehearsal for Tuesday has been cancelled!  The President of the Tournament of Roses will visit the band at Thursday's rehearsal.  He great the band, sign posters, present them with a pin, and take pictures with the kids.  After this is complete they will load the truck in preparation for Friday's parade and then be dismissed (~4pm)
  • THIS FRIDAY IS THE STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL IN HUMBOLDT!  The parade begins at 10:00 on Main Street.  We will meet at 9 am in the band room for immediate departure to Humboldt.  All students need to plan to arrive in Humboldt and change IMMEDIATELY into uniform so the truck can move to the end of the parade route.  We are the 3rd band in the parade.  After we march as our individual band we will immediately load buses and travel back to the beginning of the parade route for our performance as the Mass Band which will be the last band in the parade.  After we march as the Mass Band the President will meet with students at the end of the route on top of a firetruck to officially invite and Mass Band to the parade and present the band with the official Tournament of Roses Flag.  This should be a great photo opportunity.  We, as in our band, will then gather to play one more time for our seniors.  After that students will be required to change out of uniforms, load uniforms, and then load equipment.  Only after all of this is done student can then be checked out at the buses with his/her chaperone if a ride home form is turned in (see attached).  Ride Home Forms are due NO LATER THAN Thursday at the end of practice.  We will then travel to the Subway parking lot for students to eat lunch at McDonalds, Chinese, or Taco Bell.  Students will need $5-10 for lunch.  Students can be checked out after lunch as well.  We will then travel back to school in which all students will need a ride home!  We should arrive back at the school between 1 and 2.  This Friday will be our seniors last performance, so I hope many of you plan to make the trip to Humboldt to send off our seniors on a good last note as this is a very special day for each of them.
  • Friday Night is our Mass Band Fundraiser (An Evening of Music and Roses) with the President of the Tournament.  Each school is sending five students to help with the event and our five students know who they are.  Advanced ticket is required.  If people are asking you how they can help the Mass Band please direct them to the website which is  There they can find the GoFundMe page along with the PayPal link.  Every dollar goes towards the Mass Band.  Feel free to share any of these on your social media accounts.  This should be a BIG WEEK for fundraising for the Mass Band as people actually get to see the band are a lot more likely to give when it's fresh on their minds.
  • Gibson County's Mass Band, consisting of high school bands from Gibson County, South Gibson County, Humboldt, Milan, and Peabody has been invited to the 2022 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena California. This page features updates and contribution options.

  • Remember all debts MUST be paid off in full for a senior to receive his/her diploma after graduation or a student who is not graduating to attend the 1st June rehearsal.  If a student is not returning to band and has a debt, the debt will follow them until they graduate and diplomas will be held until the debt is paid in full.
