Rehearsal Schedule for the week:


  • Monday - Jazz Band (3:15-4:30)/Percussion Ensemble (5-8) - Band Room
  • Tuesday - Brass Ensemble (3:15-4:30)/Low Brass Ensemble (4:45-6) - Band Room
  • Wednesday - Woodwind Ensemble (3:15-4)/Saxophone Ensemble (4-4:45)- Band Room
  • Thursday - Percussion Ensemble (5-8) - Band Room


Announcements:


  • Any folks still missing Reese's Cheesecakes will get those TOMORROW!  Please let your customers know that we are sorry for the delay and still appreciate their support!
  • Our next fundraiser will be a STRICTLY ALL PROFIT FOR THE TRIP FUNDRAISER!  We will be selling GC embroidered socks!  This fundraiser starts TOMORROW!  Order forms will be passed out in class tomorrow and available on the table at the end of class.
  • Fall 2021 Color Guard Clinics BEGIN TOMORROW!  All clinics will be from 3:30-5 in the main gym with the exception of tomorrow which will be in whatever gym the girls' basketball team is NOT practicing in to get ready for the State Tournament on Wednesday!  Go Lady Pioneers!
  • Band Booster Meeting - TOMORROW NIGHT - 7pm - Library - Come be a part!
  • Mr. Cottrill from Bethel University will be in class to work with the band THIS TURSDAY.  He will stay after school that day to hear any juniors or seniors who wish to audition.  Juniors will get feedback from Mr. Cottrill.  Seniors will get scholarship offers.  Any student wishing to audition MUST let me know!  Lettering credit is offered for scholarship auditions.
  • If students want to participate in the concert next Tuesday, they need to make EVERY EFFORT to be at EVERY class period and rehearsal between NOW AND THE CONCERT!
  • Williams Sausage/Bacon will arrive THIS THURSDAY!  All orders MUST be picked up 3-5 in the gym!  Make plans now to get this picked up and either delivered or put into a freezer ASAP!
  • Continue to pay for debt from this past fall.  Please take care of this ASAP!  Check your CutTime statement at www.cuttime.net for specifics on what is owed.  If you have questions contact Lawanda Landrum at llandrum.gibsoncpc@gmail.com


Upcoming Dates:

  • Tuesday, March 16th - Classical Concert - 6:30 - Theater - Attendance is REQUIRED for all concert band members.  Masks will be required as will social distancing for our audience members.  We hope to see many of you come out for a night of great music by all the ensembles that GC has to offer!  We will NOT have an after-school rehearsal leading up to the concert as originally planned.
  • Thursday, March 18th - Solo & Ensemble - Gibson County - 4-6pm - We have hired our own judges to come in and judge the students.  Each student who receives a I or a II will get a medal.  Any student receiving a I on a solo will receive lettering credit.  Remember ALL LETTERING CREDIT IS DUE BY APRIL 15TH!
  • March 29-April 2 - SPRING BREAK!  NO SCHOOL OR REHEARSALS!
  • Thursday, April 1st - The 2nd Pasadena payment of $600 is due to Performing Arts Consultants.  The links for the payments are below.  Contact PAC at 1-800-872-3378 with any questions that you may have.  All fundraising monies that your student earned in the fall or through cheesecakes/sausage/bacon should be applied to their accounts at least 2 weeks prior to the due date of the payment.  Check your accounts to see if you see any discrepancies.
