Rehearsal Schedule for the week:


  • Monday - Jazz Band (3:15-4:30)/Percussion Ensemble (5-8) - Theater (DRESS REHEARSALS!)
  • Tuesday - CLASSICAL CONCERT - 6:30 - THEATER - ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY!
  • Wednesday - Woodwind Ensemble (3:15-4)/Saxophone Ensemble (4-4:45)- Band Room
  • Thursday - Solo & Ensemble - 4-6 - GCHS


Announcements:


  • I hope everyone that is interested in earning extra money for his/her Pasadena Trip got a Sock Fundraiser Order form and saw the pictures online.  All profits from this fundraiser will go directly into the student's trip account for the July 1st payment.  Orders + $$$ are due by NEXT MONDAY (22ND)!
  • All fundraised monies raised through any of our fall/spring fundraisers should be applied to your student's Pasadena account no later than the 18th of this week so you can prepare for the balance that is due on April 1st.  See links below.
  • Fall 2021 Color Guard Clinics continue TOMORROW!  The clinic will be in the main gym from 3:30-5.  Attendance is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED for anyone interested in trying for the 2021 GCHS Color Guard!
  • THIS TUESDAY is our Classical Concert @ 6:30 in the theater.  We will open the doors from 5:30-6 for senior parents ONLY!  The doors will be open for everyone else starting at 6.  We will have every other row blocked off and we asked that you sit at least 2 seats between you and the next household to help with social distancing.  Masks will be required!  Students must be on stage and dressed in concert attire (NO JEANS, NO TSHIRTS, NO SHORTS, NO TENNIS SHOES) at 5:45!  This is the first of 3 performance grades for this nine weeks!  Any student not attending the concert for an unexcused reason will FAIL band for the nine weeks!  The concert will be live streamed via our alumni facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/gchsmarchingpioneersalumni) for anyone who doesn't feel comfortable attending the concert in person.
  • Solo & Ensemble will take place THIS THURSDAY at GC for both our middle and high school students across the north part of our district.  Students DO NOT have to dress up for this event but they do need to look presentable.  Basically dress nice that day for school.  We have hired 4 highly reputable judges to judge the event.  Each student who receives a I (Superior) or II (Excellent) rating will receive a blue or red medal.  Students wishing to use it for lettering credit will need a I rating on his/her solo.  The event will take place from 4-6pm.  Students will have a specific time that will be assigned to them this week to perform.  They need to arrive ~30 minutes before their performance time to warm-up.  Warm-up will take place in the cafeteria and performances will take place in various classrooms around the building.
  • Anyone who is still missing items from the Williams Sausage/Bacon order will get those ASAP!  We're still waiting to hear back from them on a specific date/time that the missing items will be delivered.
