The Year in Review

Night of the Hunter is still a great film to watch, even today. It was very taboo in its time. Robert Mitchum makes for a terrifyingly "friendly" killer and his presence drives the movie. Night and Fog is a black and white short film shot at various concentration camps in Poland. It combines the shots with real footage from the allies and with still photographs. It's tough viewing but essential for people who want to understand the atrocities.

My Top Picks

  1. Night of the Hunter
  2. Night and Fog (Nuit et brouillard)
  3. The Quatermass Xperiment
