The Year in Review

There were some great Sci-Fi classics in 1951, particularly the Day the Earth Stood Still which introduced the concept of alien intervention and the Thing from Another World which influenced a huge number of movies (including Alien, the Fly - and of course, the incredible John Carpenter remake). Top spot goes to Alice in Wonderland. The Disney animated version is easily the best of all the versions and full of in-jokes. There's a couple of classics from 1951 too, Strangers on a Train and The African Queen.

My Top Picks

  1. Alice in Wonderland
  2. The Day the Earth Stood Still
  3. The Thing from Another World
