Gatineau Ski Trails for Garmin GPS

This site has been created to share a mapping project of mine with whoever wants to use it.

There are some 200 km or so of approved winter ski trails in the Gatineau Park and I have personally skied pretty much all of them and mapped them with a GPS. Using cgpsmapper, Mapedit, MapsetToolKit and Gentype I have converted these into a Garmin compatible IMG file which I am making available here with instructions on how to install it into your Garmin GPSr.

First you will need to download cgpsmapperFree and MapsetToolKit, installing them in 'C\Garmin\Garmin Custom Maps'.

Then download the zip file attached below 'Ski Trails V1.0 - Install Contents in C-GARMIN-Garmin Custom Maps.zip' and install it in the same place. Also read the file attached below Gatineau Trails Instructions V1.0.txt on how to install the IMG files into Mapsource so that it can be simply downloaded to your (mapping) Garmin GPS with all the other mapsets that you may use.

The actual trails mapped are the complete set as seen on the NCC page for Cross Country Ski Conditions where there is an excellent downloadable PDF Map of the ski trails, plus a couple of the old and discontinued ones like 'Hidden Valley aka old #13 and old #10.

Known Bugs

    • Trail #14 from #1 to Fortune is missing.

    • There are some places where the trail is shown twice (not very clean)

Please let me know if you have tried this and if its successful and of course any bugs found or constructive suggestions.
