Our Worship Service

At Gateway Baptist Church, our prayer is to make our church a sanctuary from the rest of world where believers can come, enter into God's presence, and worship in Spirit and truth. We seek to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit speak to our hearts through praise, prayer, and the preaching of God's Word.

We want our songs and our sermons to be relevant and to speak to people in our contemporary culture. However, we don't want to throw away the hymn book and forsake the old hymns that our older generation has sung and cherished throughout the years. The old hymns have lifted our spirits and helped us express our worship and adoration to God all of our lives. At the same time, we want young people to enjoy our service so we also sing contemporary songs and choruses. We believe that God's house should be a place where everyone can come and enjoy being in God's presence.

Dr. Tamaria Joyner is an accomplished pianist and leads our worship in song. Marie McDougald  and Sandra Seaman have a love for God that is deep and passionate. Together, they make up the Gateway Baptist Trio helping us express our love, adoration, awe, respect, and reverence for God our King.

The Bible is at the center of everything we do at Gateway Baptist Church. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, unchanging Word of God. The Bible is our rule of faith and practice. Bible reading and meditation upon scripture is the primary way that God communicates to us. As we embark upon our eternal pursuit of God to get to know Him in a very real and personal way, the scriptures quickly becomes the forefront of everything we do. Pastor Ryan McDougald seeks to "Do [his] best to present [himself] to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15 NIV)

We hope and pray that you will join us as we seek God. We claim His promise that when we seek Him with all of our heart, that we will find Him. ". . . You will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me whin you seek Me with all your heart." Jerimiah 29:12-13 NIV.
