Flip Your Classroom with Sites, YouTube & Forms
Level: Getting Going-Beginner, Gearing Up- Intermediate, Getting Geeky- Advanced

This half-day workshop will overview different methods of flipping your classroom and give hands-on time to build a flip starter kit using the Google Apps for Education suite. Learn how to leverage the power of YouTube in your classroom by creating playlists and tips for searching and finding quality videos. Use Google Forms to create formative assessments and discover some simple spreadsheet tips and scripts to track student achievement. Finally, create an integrated Google Site to host this content and never look back. 

YouTube in the Classroom

YouTube is the second-most used search engine on the web. Come learn how to flip your teaching using screencasting and Google Forms, enhance instruction using YouTube playlists, edit video with YouTube and and become a YouTube Star Teacher. You'll discover how to use YouTube EDU as a powerful teaching tool in the classroom. 
 
Managing Google Apps

Learn tips and tricks on deploying and managing a Google Apps for Education environment. This session will cover initial setup, configuration, data migration, email delivery, and post deployment management. Work directly with an experienced Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer to tweak your current environment or plan a migration strategy from start to finish.



Google Earth & Google Maps:  Build your own "Lit Trip"
Level: Gearing Up- Intermediate, Getting Geeky- Advanced

Room:  Tundra C Come and find out how anyone can leverage Google Maps and Google Earth to connect your classroom to the world.  I’ll highlight relevant ways and the underlying philosophy of how these tools can be used to enhance what you already do well in your classroom.  We’ll go beyond the possibilities and create placemarks, embed images, customize views and insert media to create highly visual tours, digital field trips or companions to your existing classroom material.  Learn everything you need to know to create your own "Google Lit Trip" and start building during this half day workshop!
IMPORTANT: Please make sure you have upgraded to Google Earth 7.0 prior to coming to the session.  This session is not designed for iPad users.  While iPads are cool, the full functionality of Google Earth cannot be achieved on the iOS platform.

Google Apps for Administrators- Beginners

Are you wanting to manage your district, school, or your own responsibilities more efficiently? Join Andy Crozier, Superintendent/Principal and Google Apps Trainer, in a workshop that will cover using Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Docs as an administrator. This workshop will be designed for Superintendents, Principals, Curriculum Directors, and other school admins.



Form Frenzy

Understanding and utilizing the power and efficiency of Google Forms can go a long way. Come to this workshop to learn how to make a form/survey and automate some tasks around your classroom and school. Whether your collecting email addresses and phone numbers of your parents, or creating self correcting automated class quiz, this session will give you the chance to see many options you have with Google Forms/spreadsheets.

Please bring a Chromebook or laptop to this session in order to get full benefit of hands-on experience.  iPads are cool but editing and creating Google Forms is clunky at best . . . 

Google Docs/Drive- Create, Collaborate, AND Share!

Wondering how Google Drive fits in with Google Docs? Not sure what the changes to Drive mean? Come to this workshop to find out what the upgrades to "Drive" mean for your Google account. We will explore the files you can create in Google Drive including Documents, Spreadsheets, Forms, Presentations, Drawings and other Apps that now work as a part of Google Drive. Tips and setup will be shared for the educator on how to best manage your Drive account when working with students.

This workshop will be designed for Superintendents, Principals, Curriculum Directors, and other school admins who have experience with google apps.

Google+ for Professional Development and Collaboration
Level: Getting Going-Beginner, Gearing Up- Intermediate

This session will look at ways to leverage the features in Google+ for staff development and collaboration among your colleagues. Although only currently available for Higher Education and Consumer accounts, the tools Google+ has to offer opens up great possibilities.

There are so many Google Apps that extend beyond the core suite of Calendar, Gmail, Sites and Drive/Docs. This session will take a look at some of the EVEN MORE tools and how we can harness the power of all of these apps alone and then combine them to go above and beyond! We will examine Books, Picasa, Alerts, Voice, News, Maps, Translate, Search and Chrome and how they can be used with the core suite for project based learning and to differentiate instruction. 


  
Building Collaborative Teams Using Google Apps

Google Apps Scripting

Come and see how you can leverage forms, spreadsheets and scripting to assist in the automation of processes from your classroom to the district level. We will cover everything from simple email notification systems to scheduling of events in a calendar using forms, spreadsheets and scripting.
