12th International Pragmatics Conference (in Manchester)

From 3 July to 8 July 2011, the 12th IprA  (International Pragmatics Association) conference was held at the University of Manchester. With the approval of the IPrA Consultation Board, for which I am very grateful, I was allowed to set up a table, along with various publishers for Origami Japan Tsunami Relief during the whole week of the conference.

Many people visited the origami crane table and bought origami crane earrings, brooches, fridge magnets as well as key holders at different times throughout the conference -- during coffee breaks, lunch time and in between lectures. Many visitors who visited the building also bought some crane jewellery. Owing to  many people's kindness and generosity, the staggering amount of £1,154.75  were raised in just six days. Thank you very much! I am so grateful for your kindness.

I did not take pictures related to this project during the conference. If you took pictures and do not mind having some of your pictures being posted on this website, could you kindly send them as an attachment to ni2@soas.ac.uk or origami.japan.tsunami.relief@gmail.com ? It would be nice to have some pictures on this page to remember this event
