The Google organized Ladies' Map Up is an opportunity for Kenya's lady map enthusiasts, mappers and geeks interact with other like minded women to work together, mapping out Kenya and their areas of interest, resulting in a better map for everyone in the world to see.

We will learn and extensively use Google Map Maker which is a platform that allows you to create a map by adding or editing features such as roads, businesses, parks, schools and more.

Not only will you leave the event with the knowledge of a mapping tool and a better map of Kenya, but also Map Maker certificates for your participation and surprise goodies.

Using Google Map Maker tools, you can visually mark locations and add detailed information about them. Once you have submitted content, this information may be edited by other users or moderators. Your mapping contributions on Map Maker are eventually also made available on Google Maps.

Do I need to have mapping experience?
No experience is necessary and all you need to bring is your local expertise, a good attitude, and your laptop. This will be a really fun group activity, and at the end of the Mapping Party we will be able to see how much we have contributed to the community.
