The Spiel

The Museum of Oddities from Gainesville, Florida consists of John Young on vocals and Bruce Johnson on guitar.  Friends for twenty years or so, we travel the back roads to both coasts of central Florida to bring our own take on a wide variety of music.

At a MoO show, expect some original tunes, traditional acoustic fare such as James Taylor or Cat Stevens, semi-contemporary tunes by Dave Matthews or Darius Rucker, some classic rock like The Allman Brothers or Little Feat, and even the unexpected (MileDavis, Darrell Scott, Etta James, Hank Williams, Rodgers and Hammerstein, John Martyn, etc.)...all mixed together with a hint of west coast psychedelia.  Click on the various setlist links for a full list of songs.

With well over ten hours of music from which to choose, MoO setlists can be tailored to the needs of a specific venue or event. Currently/Previously booked gigs include Satchel's/Lightnin' Salvage, Big Deck (Cedar Key), The One Love Cafe, Corky Bell's (Palatka), The Away from the World Cafe (Cedar Key), Hobo's (Trenton), the Alachua Art Walk series, First Magnitude Brewery, The Crafty Bastards, The World of Beer, The Brass Tap, The Whiskey House, Marineland of Florida (St. Augustine), Rum 138 (High Springs), Beef O'Brady's (Gainesville & Alachua locations), Tasty Buddha, Napolatano's, The Library at Market Street, Alachua's Dine and Stroll series, North Florida Pioneer Days Festival, the High Springs Music in the Park series as well as various private and charity functions.

The Electric MoO is a five piece band that consists of Everett Caudle on guitar and vocals, Ken Garvin on bass, Bruce Johnson on guitar, Dave Kress on drums, and John Young on most of the lead vocals. We might be best described as classic rock with a healthy dose of improvisation.
