Welcome! I’m Gabriel Târziu, a philosopher specialised in the philosophy of climate science, epistemology, the philosophy of science, and the philosophy of mathematics. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at SOCRATES (Leibniz Universität Hannover), where my research focuses on the relationship between public understanding of science, trust in science, and the impact of non-epistemic values on laypeople’s epistemic stances.
Beyond this, I have a broad interest in scientific understanding and explanation, the applicability of mathematics to the physical world, and ontological debates in the philosophy of mathematics.
Philosophy is more than a profession for me—it’s a way of life, driven by a deep need to explore, to question, and to understand the world around me. This may sound cheesy, but it is how I feel.
