In recent weeks I have started to use this mode on 6m receive. It comes free with WSJT-X v1.7. The mode is optimised for MS and aircraft reflections i.e. short (milliseconds long) bursts that can be quite strong. I have left the FT817 on 50.280MHz using just a V2000 vertical fed with RG58 coax (lossy).
Up to now this poor system has received 16 countries. With a "proper" MS shower I am pretty sure I could manage 2-way QSOs even with QRP and my poor antenna.
This mode means 6m is good for DX at any time and at any part of the solar cycle. For me, it has transformed 6m.
The image shows the stations spotted on a typical day. All reports were strong.
