Teacher Evaluation Process

Purpose

Evaluation exists to ensure that staff reflects the mission and vision of the school on a consistent basis. At Fuquay-Varina Middle School, the intent of evaluation is not to "get" people or to "unnerve" people. The process is intended to help teachers improve and to help them become more comfortable with the concept of evaluation.

Whoever you are and whatever your experience, you have strong points and weak points.  You can be an outstanding teacher and still have a weakness.  Evaluation is not designed to pretend weaknesses do not exist.  In fact, you should know your own weaknesses better than the evaluator.

On August 1, 2015, the NC Dept. of Public Instruction launched the new online license system for all licensed educators in the state to use to manage their educator license.

It is important that you access the new system and establish your affiliation with Wake County Public Schools.  Once you have registered and accessed your account, there are several functions within the system that you can perform with respect to your license.  These include but are not limited to: 1) download and print a copy of your license; 2) update your contact information such as your personal email address, mailing address, etc.; and 3) review the details of your current license.

To access the system, please visit http://www.ncpublicschools.org/licensure/. There is a link to the new online system in the middle of this page.  Click on  "NCDPI Online Licensure System."  Once you get to the landing page for the online system, there is a link in the bottom left that says NCDPI Registration.  You'll click on that link to register and establish an account.

Again, we are asking that one of the first activities you complete in the system is to "Affiliate" with Wake County Public Schools.  This will allow us to see your records as well, and without this affiliation we may not be able to assist you with questions as we will not be able to access your records.

A User Guide is available on the district Intranet site for Licensure, under the Human Resources department.

REMEMBER -- When you DOWNLOAD a file from below, you need to click on the DOWN ARROW to the right of the file.  If you choose to click the file itself, it will give you a "view" that is an awkward format to print.
