We would like to introduce you to three of our sisters and invite you to read their brief reflections about their ministries.
Sister Mary Haworth, FSP
Linden Housing Corp./John T. Gregorio Towers - Linden, NJ
"For over 20 years I have had the privilege of working with seniors and disabled persons. While each day has many challenges, it also has many joyful moments. The most humbling experience for me is when a resident refers to me as his or her angel because I happened along when help was needed. I try to explain that it wasn’t I but God who wanted me in that place at that time."
“My ministry at RENEW International is about evangelization - fostering spiritual renewal in the Catholic tradition by empowering individuals and communities to encounter God in everyday life, deepen and share faith, and connect faith with action. I have been privileged to work with lay leaders in parishes and dioceses around the world for the past 16 years. Walking through one of our core processes for spiritual renewal with parish leaders is indeed a blessing. Experiencing the Church in different countries and cultures and listening to the stories of faith-filled Catholics continues to inspire me to be a better Franciscan Sister of Peace."
Sister Maureen Colleary, FSP
Renew International - Plainfield, NJ
Sister Ruth McDonnell, FSP
Maria Regina High School - Harstdale, NY
Maria Regina High School, with an enrollment of over 500 girls, there
are many opportunities to be a peacemaker. Frequently I become a
listener or facilitator for colleagues and students. Since 1986 I have
enjoyed my ministry as a teacher of all levels of Spanish, a Eucharistic
Minister, Homeroom Moderator and Advisor to the Spanish Honor Society.
Teenagers have always been very special to me."
