The Lord bless you and keep you;
May He show His face to you
and have mercy.
May He turn His countenance to you
and give you peace.
It would be our privilege to pray for you
and your intentions.
Welcome from the Congregation Minister
“Pace et Bene,” translated “Peace and All Good”, was a favorite greeting of Saint Francis. Both peace and goodness are strong components of Franciscan Spirituality. In the pages that follow, we invite you to read about our mission, our charism of peacemaking, and the ways in which we strive to bring peace and goodness into our world.
As Franciscan Sisters of Peace we walk together in faith, convinced of our call, committed to each other, and eager to serve the world as instruments of God’s peace. We endeavor to do what is possible, both in prayer and in action, to assist the poor, the marginalized in society, and the suffering who come into our lives. Saint Francis challenged his first followers to bring the message of peace and joy to all they meet. This was the legacy Francis left to the world, and to the Franciscans in particular . . . and we are the heirs and stewards of that legacy.
The Franciscan charism is a gift to the Church through Francis and Clare of Assisi and their followers. Franciscans seek to proclaim the fundamental goodness of God in all of life and creation. Since all of creation is a gift from God, it is holy ground. The call to be one with all of creation and all people, especially the marginalized and the oppressed, is fundamental to our presence in the world.
